Exactly the same here. Catalina on Macbook Pro late 2014. Here's what I did 1. Before I do any system software work, I updated my time machine backup. 2. I rebooted my Macbook. 3. I did the driver uninstall using the Wacom utility 4. Rebooted as directed. It hung. I let is stay like that overnight. ...
