Did you check the connections yet? Make sure everything is plugged as it should and that you try different cables to be sure.

When you say shutting down, do you mean that it turns itself OFF completely right? There are many reasons why this could happen. Start by running all Windows Updates and manually update the graphics card drivers. If the problem persists, reset Windows. If after all this you are still having issues, ...

If this doesn't happen with the eraser end, then the problem is the standard end of the pen and you need a pen replacement. Please contact support and explain the situation - https://support.wacom.com

The issue is clearly in the connection. There is no other solution or tip we can provide other then replacing the cables. Support should be able to help you replace the Wacom stock cables but we can't help you with 3rd party cables.

Does this also happen in any other drawing software? The original pen that comes with the PTH-660 has an eraser. Do you still have it? If yes, can you test it to see if the same happens.

Sounds as if the Wacom Driver is not waking up from sleep. Something might be blocking it form doing so. Try uninstalling and reinstalling the latest driver first.
