Cintiq Pro 16 MacOS 6.3.42-1 driver fails after wake from sleep

Postby gjkrupa » Wed 3. Mar 2021, 16:18

I recently bought a Cintiq 16 Pro and connected it via Thunderbolt to my MacBook 16" running Cataline (10.15.7). The driver worked initially but a couple of times the driver has just failed when the laptop has woken from sleep. The device still works as a monitor but both pen and touch input stops working. The driver check in Wacom Desktop Center reports a problem but running a driver restart doesn't resolve the issue. The only workaround I've found is to fully reboot the laptop but then the driver fails once again after a couple more sleeps. I've run through all the Catalina privacy settings instructions but that hasn't made a different (I didn't really expect it to since it does work some of the time).

Also, sometimes touch just doesn't work at all (I just see Touch unavailable in the tablet preferences) after a fresh boot and I have to reboot again to get it working.

The instructions at https://github.com/thenickdude/wacom-dr ... ermissions seem to work as a workaround for this. Specifically running the following restores the tablet to operation (with touch enabled):

Code: Select all

launchctl unload /Library/LaunchAgents/com.wacom.wacomtablet.plist
launchctl load -w /Library/LaunchAgents/com.wacom.wacomtablet.plist
