The buttons on the side of your digital pen have different functions. You can choose what you want the buttons to do by going to Wacom Tablet Properties (Through the Wacom Desktop Center or start menu on your device)
I turn off my pen buttons during live lessons to avoid accidentally pressing them when annotating slides.
It also lets you check the sensitivity and pressure when you write. I played around with this to help improve my writing accuracy and it really helped.
