Setting up your Wacom One for online live lessons

Postby HellyDouglas » Fri 19. Feb 2021, 11:59

The Wacom One comes with an 'x' shaped cable to connects it to your computer. It can look a bit overwhelming at first but it's simple to use.
The cable has four connections. Two go into your computer - the HDMI and a USB. One goes into your AC socket for power. The other plugs into your Wacom One.

Before your live lesson, if you're using it for the first time, you need to download the latest driver and register with Wacom. It doesn't take long, but do it well in advance so you're not rushing before your live lesson. There's a simple guide here you can use to get connected: https://www.wacom.com/en-gb/getting-started/wacom-one

Think about your working space. I like to have my One screen where I'd naturally have a piece of paper in front of me. That meant moving a few things around on my desk so I felt comfortable and had everything to hand.

When you start your live lesson, use screen sharing to show your class the platform or program you want to use. Wacom works with any software with drawing capability so you can keep using your usual programs. The One screen will automatically mirror your computer screen and will recognise the pen when you hover over the screen surface so you can draw and write as you teach.
