Wacom Intuos set up for online lessons

Postby HellyDouglas » Fri 19. Feb 2021, 12:09

The Wacom Intuos is really simple to set up before a live online lesson.

If it's the first time you've used it, make sure you download the driver and register. It doesn't take long, but you don't want to be rushing before your lesson begins. There's a guide here if you need help getting started: [url]https://www.wacom.com/en-us/getting-started/wacom-intuos

You can choose to connect via USB or use Bluetooth- this is really handy if you don't want any cables in the way or have limited space. Think about where you would place a piece of paper to write on and put your Intuos tablet in the same position (I'm left handed so I have my tablet to the left of my computer keyboard).

Spend some time at first just playing around with drawing on your screen before the pressure of a live class. It does take a little practise to get used to looking at your computer screen while writing on the tablet. Then during your live lesson, use screen sharing so your students can see your digital ink while you teach.
