New wacom Driver 6.12-3 and supernew 6.12-4 crashing cs4: illustrator, flash, ps.
Change to old 6.11-3 driver solved the problem.

We cannot see such a problem here. What is your operating system ? Was it a fresh driver installation or overinstall ?

Win Xp, driver fresh and over,

this problem appears only when photoshop is used in background and I use pen, when I use mouse everything is correct. Obviously it is driver fault.

This Photoshop/Illustrator Crash problem is more than annoying, it has me ready to remove my tablet all-together until Wacom fixes this issue. Using Win 7 64-Bit and it's happening to me also. Reverting back to the previous driver does fix the issue, sort of, but then I have to deal with cursor animations every time I use the pen (which I have yet to figure out how to turn off in Win 7).
That's not the only problem I've run across either. Using the Wacom mouse in Illustrator is painful too. It will not work in mouse mode, only pen mode. No matter if I delete settings/uninstall driver and start from scratch. It still orientates itself to the screen every time, and it only happens in Illustrator. Please provide all of us hard-working people with functional drivers for these $300+ glorified mouse pads!

Cursor animations are not part of the tablet driver. If you do not need the Windows 'pen inking' functions, go to services and disable the 'TabletPC Input Service'.

I'm going back to old driver. There are definitely issues with with latest driver. Just open any combination of Adobe applications, especially Flash, Illustrator, After Effects, and Photoshop, and you will get a crash very fast. I think Illustrator just disappears, never seen a program exit out of memory and calculation so quick, as soon as you put the pen down.

Microsoft WHQL certification or whatever it is, doesn't really seem very effective this time around

We tested here on Vista and see no problem. We will try other configurations as well.

I have installed 6.1.2-3 and still are having instant exiting (or sometimes up to 20s of use) for Illustrator, while Photoshop is open.
