Re: MSP 16 with external monitor blanks out
I am having the same issue. Wacom1 - you keep saying external monitors can blank out on nvidia cards and if the cord is too long. It is the wacom screen that flickers. Mine flickers even when its not connected to an external monitor.

Re: MSP 16 with external monitor blanks out
Just read this pretty old thread, hoping to find some solutions.
I use a LMP USB-C to VGA Adapter ... however , ive got the exact same issue as described by mem5000.
Even with the 6.3.27-2 update ...
are there still no solutions for that problem ?

Re: MSP 16 with external monitor blanks out
Please understand that the display is handled by the graphics card and driver and that is completely independant of the tablet driver. You can uninstall the tablet driver without affecting the display. - If you have an external monitor attached and it shows nothing or blanks out sometimes: check the cable connection (USB-C ports 1 and 3 have different speed that the center USB-C port on MSP), check/update the graphics driver, lenght of cable and screen resolution. (Higher resolutions need more bandwidth and signal strength depends on cable length).
Re: MSP 16 with external monitor blanks out
ok thanks
so i use the middle usb-c-port, shortest cable, the lowest resolution fo the external monitor and just upgraded my nvidia quadro 1000M gpu.
the problem still persists (less frequently, maybe ?)
are there some settings to assign the external monitor to the nvidia quadro instead of the intel iris gpu? it looks pretty much, that the problem is caused by the iris gpu ...
thanks in advance!

Re: MSP 16 with external monitor blanks out
Hi everyone,
I've got the same issue with my MSP 16 i7. Have there appeared any ideas how to solve it? I tried everything that was mentioned in this thread but my built-in display is continuing blanking out.
I noticed one more strange addition. If I disable my build-in display and use an external monitor only, the built-in display turns on from time to time showing a black screen, even if I turn off it in the Device Manager and Display Manager.
The most annoying thing here is when it happens, all sounds in the system mute for a while. So if I listening to music of watching a video I know each time when the built-in display turns on because sound stops playing for a couple of seconds. I should mention I don't plug any sound devices and I use the built-in sound system.
Please tell if you have a solution. It looks like this guy mem5000 is very lucky, probably Santa has fixed his device.

Re: MSP 16 with external monitor blanks out
Do have this also if there is no external screen attached ? Then soemthing is wrong with the unit - perhaps a bad display connection internally or something overheating. Check temperature, test with and without powersupply connected, and check the power options to see if that is related.
Re: MSP 16 with external monitor blanks out
If I don't plug an external monitor everything is perfect. Temperature is ok.
