Problem volume control button Cintiq Companion

Hello, I have a 4 year old Cintiq Companion, and the volume button (situated top left-in landscape) doesn’t work. When I press it, I get a volume display on the screen, but it just goes up and down on its own with a clicking noise, and the volume doesn’t change. The only way to get rid of the volume display is to restart tablet. I can control the volume by swiping in from the right, and selecting volume control, but it’s a faff, as I’m disabled. I’ve gone through all of the settings, and updated every driver.
If anyone is able to advise, please bear in mind that I’m slow, and not tech savvy. Thank you
