RealSence Camera

Postby sabillano » Sun 16. Sep 2018, 08:42

I am starting this post in complete desperation. I bought the MSP 13" the first day. I bought the most expensive ones, I didn't think about 3d scanning much at that time, I tried it, it worked well, but at that moment I didn't care much about using it. In April 2017 Windows released Creators Update, and the 3D scanning for the MSP was broken for ever.
So since April 2017 I cannot use the 3d scanning anymore. the MSP was released at the end of November 2016 so the life of the scanning system was 5 months total. Remember that the MSP 13" with the 3D camera was around 500€ more (also more storage etc). I don't want to believe that it is even legal, buy a product and 5 months after that stops working because an update, imagine that with an iPhone.

Anyway, I contacted Wacom long time ago and several times. They always tell me it is an Intel problem, since the 3D camera is an Intel RealSense R200. So I contacted Intel, they told me they are aware of the problem, but there is no solution. They suggested contacting Wacom also.

This is more of a rant post since there is "no" solution to the problem. I suppose the base complaining about this problem is to low for both companies to worry about. But leaves me with a bitter taste, since I like the MSP very much, I use it everyday more than 8 hours. Makes me think, will I buy the next Pen Computer from Wacom when it is released?
