Desktop Mode has no relation with the Wacom Driver. This feature is enabled by the MobileStudio Pro BIOS firmware.

One of the latest security BIOS updates has disabled Desktop Mode on the MobileStudio Pro.
This means that the device will NOT switch to Desktop Mode when connected to a computer through the Wacom Link or any other connection.

There is no way to use Desktop Mode until a future BIOS firmware update enables this again.

Ok, thank you for the explanation. Two questions:
1. When is the new BIOS firmware with working Desktop Mode going to be available?
2. Can we downgrade the BIOS firmware to older version to re-enable the Desktop Mode?

1. No ETA available at the moment. It's being worked on. We know this is something very important for many users.
2. No. There is no option to do this and I wouldn't recommend doing it anyway. As as I said earlier, this was a security update.

Well for me it works perfectly. Installed all updates including the Bios. I am connecting to a 2017 macbook pro using a usb-c cable.

Ok, interesting. I wonder why my setup doesn't work and why yours does even though you have the latest BIOS as well. I'm using this cable which I believe should be a correct one: https://www.belkin.com/us/p/P-F2CD082/

Yeah, it's strange because it's also working for me with usb-c to usb-c. It's a bit laggy sometimes, but I think that has to do with the usb-c cable I'm using.

And I also made a BIOS update recently, and the wacom app says it's up to date, so it's weird. I'm glad it's working though, as the desktop mode is a big part of why I bought this instead of an ipad pro, and I believe that's the case for a lot of users also. I hope they fix it asap!

Can you check which BIOS version you have? I have InsydeH20 Version MS111.

Interesting. Could this be a cable issue? So far I've tested 3 different USB-C -> USB-C cables:
- This Belkin one: https://www.belkin.com/us/p/P-F2CD082/
- MacBook Pro's own charging cable
- Google Nexus 6P's data cable

What is also odd is that Wacom is saying above that the Desktop Mode should not work after the BIOS updates and yet there are two users who say otherwise.

Edit: Do you have MSP 13 or 16? We have 13.

Edit 2: I've also used the "Reset this PC" from Windows 10 to reinstall it but that didn't help either.

We got pretty similar setups, so I don't think it's the cable. I also have the MSP 13 (128gb-8gbram) and tested with the macbook charging cable, but that one does not work at all, as it doesn't support data.

I also tested with the Nexus 5x cable, which I think it's the same as the 6P. That one works as intended, but I get some input lag, so I ordered a thunderbolt cable: https://www.startech.com/Cables/thunder ... LT34MM50CM

Your Nexus cable should work, and the Belkin TB should definitely work. Must be something else. Just to rule out everything, you're using the center port, right?
