MobileStudio Pro 13 fan rattle sound and low air

Postby SamxFisher » Sat 27. Oct 2018, 23:48

I just purchased a Wacom MobileStudio Pro 13 i5, and I noticed there are 2 main fans on the right side, one on top-right, and another one on bottom-right side.

The top-right fan seems to work perfectly, it takes out so much air outside, its hot, but its the normal kind of hot air comes out from a tablet.

But the bottom-right fan, it makes a rattle sound all the time, even just turned on wacom it starts to make the sound, and the air is like half or less than half air force as the top-right fan does, and doubles the temperature.

The sound is exactly as this sound on this video (its not my MSP, its from another person): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MsB_71p4h7s

If links are not allowed, you can see the 3 videos on youtube searching for: Wacom MobileStudio Pro 16 (15.6") - Problem: Defective Fan Issue (1 of 3) from Firebrand.

Of course, I've updated everything, windows, wacom drivers, and updated firmware from pen and tablet.

So, both fans has to extract the same ammount of air? or it is normal that the bottom-right fan does less air, that rattle sound and takes hotter air?

I also have the 13 i5 version, and my fans do nothing like that. They are quite quiet and look balanced in the amount of hot air spit out. Looks like you got a defective unit.

ok thanks a lot mcpatto.

I purchased it on amazon, and I replaced for another one.

It arrived me today, and now this one is working great, temps are lower and there is no rattling sound anymore.

Yay! Now I'm happy!
