Can MSP connect to internet using ethernet cable?

Postby toxicguest » Wed 31. Oct 2018, 11:15

Hi all,
I have recently purchased an ethernet cable and a type-C ethernet adaptor. I have plugged the type-C to the middle socket, and, ethernet cable directly to the router on the other hand. But the window 10 in my MSP does not seems to show a successful connection. What it stated after diagnosis is that the "ethernet" does't have a valid IP configuration.

Any one can help? Thanks in advance.

I haven't actually tested this. Normally we just use the Wi-Fi connection.
I would suggest you to make sure Windows is fully updated and maybe try a different adaptor.

Update: I have tested this and it worked fine. I used a generic brand less adaptor and an old adaptor from Apple.
I got an instant connection. No configuration was required whatsoever.
Please try a different adaptor and make sure Windows is fully updated.
