How much do wacom charge for a fix of the power port and a new battery on the companion1? I've kept it going with the dodgy power port for 6 years now, I never work with it plugged in and it has to charge at a very specific angle.i think the battery is getting a bit old though as I'm not getting as much time out of it as I used to. Do you have details of how to buy a replacement battery as I'm also considering taking it to a third party repair shop, maybe they would be able to fix out the power port too.

You need to ask that question to the support team - https://support.wacom.com

I don’t think wacom has ever posted an estimate publicly because there are too many variables for each case

It's pretty old now, it does work perfectly apart from the charger port problem that was in all models. Not a scratch on it either. I'm sure wacom would charge an absolute fortune to fix it which is why I was also asking about the parts.if anyone else knows, please pass the info on. I was thinking of just taking the info to a local computer repair shop. I'd just love to extend its life a bit as I really like working on it, I've done some of my best ever work on it and I'm actually getting a bit depressed about what I'm going to do when I can no longer work on it :(

Thanks in advance.

if your warranty is out I guess there is no harm in taking it to an electronics repair shop. explain to them the plug is faulty. I would ask them to completely replace the socket with something else and replace the power tip to match. I bet they could fix it for good if they did this. I dont expect it to cost too much depending where you go. it may be better to find a mom and pop shop rather then mainstream.

Speaking of repairing Wacom computers, which one would be the most resilient physically? Because I'm planning to get one of these houses in Greece for the holidays, and this means I'll be moving a lot from my primary residence to there; be it by car or plane, it means that the computer will be shaken a little, and I'd like to avoid this leading to serious issues.
