red tint on wacom 16 pro and macbook air

Postby kangum » Fri 2. Mar 2018, 18:35

I am having a problem that when I use my Macbook air with my cintiq pro there is a red tint on the screen. The laptop does not support 4k so this is 1440p. I tried messing with the profiles and it got better but there was always a slight pink with my whites like someone put in a red shirt with my whites. I tried searching and found a few others with this problem with various color profile tricks. I was about to give up on my cintiq pro 16 and send it back as a monitor issue because the whites were so bad and I said I will try it with my imac first. I tried it with my imac and its a totally different machine. colors are super accurate and perfect and whites are as pure as they get. There is no red tinge at all and its just a great screen with great color reproduction. There is clearly something wrong with the video out on my macbook air. I am going to keep using it for now on my Imac unless someone knows of a driver updsate or something I can do with my air to correct it. Mac air version is 10.13.3 high seirra HD 5000 intel graphic chip.

never mind i read the main thread. it is Mac OSX Sierra causing it. Toggling nightshift on and off fixes it temporarily until the computer sleeps or the monitor is shut off then you have to toggle it again or dont use Sierra
