Colour value differences on Mac vs Cintiq screen

Postby konjyouki » Thu 3. May 2018, 04:32

Whenever I've finished rendering a painting on Cintiq then preview it on Mac, I noticed two things:
1. the colour (hue, saturation) displayed on Mac much duller compared to Cintiq and,
2. value depth (shadow, highlight) on Mac much darker compared to Cintiq

I've tried to match the colour display (since Mac default is Color LCD and Cintiq default is Cintiq 13HD since I've 13HD):
- I've tried matching Mac to Cintiq (Color LCD-Color LCD) and,
- vice versa (Cintiq 13HD-Cintiq 13HD) with no significant improvement.
- I've also tried the "Calibrate" option but I don't really know what to do nor what am I doing
so, if "Calibration" is the answer, would someone please tell me what steps should I choose or what should I do in each steps since I don't know anything about it.

*I know this issue -most probably- mainly because Mac screen is better than Cintiq, since Mac has Retina display, but I still don't want them to show different results.*

Hello

To perform a good calibration, you need a basic color display software and an X-rite displayPro sensor and here is the result on Mac.
