Cable Disconnecting Constantly (Wacom 13HD)

Hey,

I bought a Wacom Cintiq 13HD last year around Feburary and it was already second hand when I had it, the guy upgraded to a larger model. Stuff is pretty fine with it besides the odd freezing here and there but about a month ago my cable became very sensitive. I have to make sure it's in a particular position for the screen to come on and am having to duct tape it to the tablet to stop it moving.

I'm not sure if this problem is the cable itself, or the port and I am not experienced enough to tell. I think the warranty is void, but my housemate is a IT guy so wondering what my options are here. Thanks!
