Cintiq 27QHD going into power save mode

Postby teatime » Sat 1. Sep 2018, 18:25

Hello!

I recently build a new PC, but haven't been able to get my Citniq 27QHD Touch working since then. The power supply, USB and HDMI are plugged in and latest drivers are installed. When I try to turn on my Citniq (as a second monitor), The wacom logo comes up for a second but the screen stays black after. The lights are lit up in the corner, the power button at the top is orange, and it registers my touch as it moves the mouse on my main monitor. I've tried going into my display settings, but it can't detect that there's a second monitor, however it's registers my cintiq in the wacom tablet properties.

Last time I used my cintiq was on my laptop about 2 months ago and it worked perfect, I haven't touched or moved it in that time either. I'm using a Windows 10 (not activated) computer.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

I had the same thing happen a few years back, but with my Mac. My 27QHD suddenly went into power save mode. I was able to get it working for a while using HDMI rather than the thunderbolt port. After a day or two, it, too, suddenly went into power save mode. I tried different ports, cables, computers, but ended up sending it to Wacom who replaced the LCD. It has worked since, though I have used it little since then, and have always been worried it would happen again.

Thanks for the response, I actually was using the HDMI and found my thunderbolt port and that seemed to do the trick! Hopefully it keeps working and It doesn't go back into power saving mode again. Hopefully yours stays working since you sent it in as well.

Given the frequency of occurrence and fact these seem to be ticking timebombs I would suspect underrated capacitors somewhere are to blame... I had similar issues with a 24HD where 3kv capacitors were used and 6kv should have been used - poor design and engineering, something Wacom would never admit.
