Cintiq 13HD - Touch problems with Wndows 10

Postby DirkWo » Mon 8. Oct 2018, 05:46

I had not used my Cintiq for a few days and had been switched off. Now I wanted to use this again yesterday, and now I have a problem with the touch function. This is because it is no longer executed on the Cintiq display, but on the other screen (this is set as the main screen in Windows).

But the pen still works on the Cintiq display. I completely uninstalled the driver and then installed the latest driver.

But the problem remains. In the tablet settings you can define whether the pen function should run on the CIntiq or the normal display. But I can set what I want, nothing changes.

The touch function as such also works correctly, but on the wrong screen. The rest works correctly, as it should.

How do I get the touch function back to the Cintiq?

Either you make the Cintiq the main display, or you configure touch in Windows.
Open the Control Panel > Tablet PC Settings > Configure

Making the Cintiq the main display is not possible. This has extremely negative effects on the actual editing screen. Especially since you ALWAYS have to switch on the Cintiq to be able to log in. This is not an option. (That can't be the point, and hasn't been necessary for the last two years).

Then I switched off the tablet mode in Windows, which had no effect.

The question is how something like this can change suddenly.

Did the suggestion above work? Touch input is managed by Windows so perhaps something has changed in your setup recently?

No, I'm afraid that doesn't work. As I had already written, I switched off Tablet Mode in Windows. But this didn't change anything.

Also nothing has changed in the setup, except for the usual Windows updates, which always come unasked unfortunately.

I had already uninstalled the Wacom driver completely. And then the current one installed.

Which strangely enough doesn't work either, because you can't change the pen control in the Wacom software to the other screen. No matter what is selected there, nothing changes in behavior.

Could it be that some Windows update is already messing up the Wacom tablet again? Wouldn't be the first time.

But more importantly, how do you get this fixed again?
