27QHD Touch unbelievably slow

Postby PeterKelly » Thu 11. Oct 2018, 14:26

I had just acquired a second hand (although perfect condition except for a missing panel screw!) 27QHD touch and swapped it for the 24HD that I have been using. However, it has proved to be useless.

I mainly use Lightroom and Photoshop, but when I try to use the slider controls in Lightroom it takes forever to register the pen. It's as if it takes three or four goes to catch, before I can make an adjustment. My 24HD is instantaneous. There is also a noticable delay in displaying the selected photograph; whereas with the 24HD (as my primary) the image appears there first, followed a split second later by the 'loupe' view on the second monitor, but on the 27QHD the image appears on the second monitor and then a delay of half a second before on the Cintiq.

What the heck is going on???!!!???

It is unlikely to be computer power (i7 7700 overclocked by 18%, 32Gb fast ram, GTX 1060 graphics, 2 x M2 250gb SSD in RAID 0 for OS and 2 x 500GB SSD in RAID 0 for data).

Is someone going to tell me I need a Kray supercomputer to run this display without the lag making it unusable, or is there a very simple setting to fix this dreadful problem?

Which video connection are you using? DisplayPort? Have you tried using a different connection?
Please try using only Cintiq 27QHD (unplug the other monitors) and see if the lag still occurs.

As for the lag in Lightroom, it's been an issue between Windows Ink and Adobe. You can turn off Windows Ink from the Wacom tablet properties but you will not be able to use pressure sensitivity since Adobe Software relies on Windows Ink for pressure sensitivity. See here for more information on the issue.

Make sure Windows is fully updated and that you have the latest Wacom driver installed.

Sadly, your reply is typical of Wacom: blame it on everything else and repeat hackneyed guesses.

Windows is fully up to date, the driver is the very latest, I'm well aware of the 'Windows Ink' nonsense that you haven't addressed for years, and I am using the display port (as well as trying all the others). The suggestion about just using the Cintiq on its own is laughable and, quite frankly, insulting.

Perhaps you need to get your collective fingers out and fix these issues that have plagued your products for decades. I had to rant and rave to you clowns before you implemented the four point calibration (although you haven't even got that as good as it should be).
