Cintiq 24 pro connection

Postby hardworker » Sat 27. Oct 2018, 17:38

Hi,
is it possible to connect the Cintiq 24 pro to iMac (late 2013) with USB C to USB A (3.0) cable like this one for example: https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Typ ... b+c+to+usb

or maybe this one - USB C to mini DP: https://www.amazon.com/Displayport-Weyt ... B076D7DR72

Thnx for the answer!

That will not work in the way you desire. There are two components that you need to worry about when connecting the Cintiq Pro 24: The video signal and the pen/touch data.

USB-C to USB-C cables are able to transmit this through a single cable (if you have the right cable) but if you use a USB-C to mDP cable you will lose the pen / touch data and if you use the USB-C to USB-A you will lose the video signal transmission.

It would make more sense to just use mDP to DP and USB-A to USB-A. These cabled as included with the device should you shouldn't need to buy any cables.

Hi,

thanks for the answer. I was trying to reduce the usage of many cables to only one but like you said it will not work. The thing is that my adapter for DP to mini DP broke the other day but I've managed to buy DP/miniDP cable (without the adapter) and now it works fine.

I got one more question: why there is no sharpness option in the Wacom display preferences? I have the 6.3.31-4 drivers installed, OS X Sierra, iMac 27 inch, late 2013.

Thanks!
