Cintiq 27 QHD Calibration

Postby smilefish » Mon 6. Feb 2017, 18:35

Hello,
is it possible to color-calibrate the cintiq 27 QHD with the spyder 5 from Datacolor, or is this only possible with the Wacom device (X-rite color munki)?
I did not find any answer to this question elswhere. Thanks for every answer.

This should basically work ok. - However, the Cintiq27 has build-in color loot lookup table in hardware and the Spyder software may not be able to use that (saving the result of calibration in the hardware). This option is supported by the Xrite software.

I use Spyder 5 pro with my Cintiq 27 QHD touch and is does a good job. BUT... I am going to invest in the Wacom Color Manager which is a customized version of X-Rite’s i1DisplayPro. X-Rite customized their calibration software so it talks directly to the display scalar and hardware controls in the Cintiq and has auto adjustments to get more precise colour. It will calibrate non-Wacom monitors aswell.
I believe that X-Rite color monki is a mid range product, on par with Spyder 5pro. Where as the i1Display is high end, on par with Spyder5 Elite. But if your spending that kind of cash then its worth looking at the Wacom color manager for optimal results as its specifically customised for the Cintiq
