Would you be so kind and explain to me how you managed to get rid of the fan noise? I have the 24 pro as well and the only thing that is bothering me is the fan noise and it is keeping me from using it. I would however love to use it as the drawing experience is so good.
You said you put soft foam or a towel before the vents? Did you stick this on the cintiq and where? Below the vents on the back or above the vents which would be on top of the cintiq since there is only very little space there?
Off course a photo would be highly appreciated but I don't know if it's possible on this forum.
Thanks for your time,
Hi Sorry for the late reply.
Sure I can show what I did:
So the trick is to lower the Brightness down to 60% Now I am using Adobe RGB settings for work & to Color Proof for printing etc. ( You do not really need more )
If you want to get it brighter change the " Color Space " to Custom Color and leave it at it's defaults. ( RGB 127,127,127 downside is 3-4 db more noise. Still not as crazy as out of the box. ) If you can loan or buy a color Calibrator it would show you that it is about 98~++% Adobe RGB / that is rather good news.. I USE 99% of the time Simple sRGB since 70% of all monitors only have 100% RGB :)
( Don't buy the Calib if you are not going to be using it every 2-3 weeks. The truth is it really is not needed if the Product is good out of the box.
I just had it laying around :D
Also I have an interesting setup after testing it. I can show you an Image of how it looks.
So I did not want a big Stand nor an Ergo Arm Smack in my face. Yet I did want something that holds it up and is Stable. So I bought myself a cheap Shoe Stand to the heights I wanted it to be.
" IKEA MACKAPÄR 10035 " I have been using this ever since and It is great. You can change it 3 levels and it is Very sturdy. Also you have two ✌ Placeholders that's just a bonus :)
My Wacom is about 25CM = almost 10inches Away from me. I lean in keeping a Sturdy back! Also if I need it closer I remove the Keyboard and just bring the hole IKEA thing closer. It works really well 0 problems from I bought it with the Wacom. Since I have more then one Wacom I swap from time to time using either the Intous Pro M or just the Normal Cintiq 16 (not pro Works, but its a piece of Cr** ) that you can put a keyboard on top of if not being used.
Now about the cooling Vents. I have tested over 3 month Covering the Vents and the Monitor gets a little bit warm, but not much. I do not really care about my Warranty to much anymore. Because of what I wrote a few month ago and it works :D
SO what Foam am I using. Well it is simple Cheap Acoustic Foam from eBay or Ali there is plenty of airflow with an impressive noise reduction.
Cut it to about 2cm or a Inch and do not cover the hole thing just left and right. A heat sink will show off that the Temperature is in the middle where the fans are use your hands to feel the warmth. I have the Cables in Reverse as shown in the pics BTW.
Also another Positive thing about the foam. If you live in a very dusty area it will protect dust from going inside also Fruit flies love this Product, so it keeps both out :) The Towel is placed close to the Wacom top part and behind the Stand.
NOTE: This is my setup and it works for me. If you wish to become more relaxed and enjoy a Smooth workflow. Please do so at OWN Risk. I kindly shared with everyone how I set it up. I really enjoy the way I set it up and I have since I am using this Cintiq.
+ No noise
+ Acceptable colors
It is rather funny that they sell the Touch as if it really was Touch. It is rather a Fake Flair. Touch Barely works in almost all Programs I own. ClipPaintPro It lags and forget about Rotation. ( Very fast Software Love it & better then PS)
Coral it feels like a Robot trying to walk. ( Laggy Software )
Sketchbook has by Far the best touch experience (Very fast Software )
Other Touch Apps like GRAPHITER it will not even be recognized ( Love this App )
MY Lenovo 230T still works and it has touch and Pen and the funny thing is it has better RGB's and Lighting then a Cintiq 16 ( What a joke )
PS: I will be getting a 144hz wide monitor that fits perfectly on the top of this Stand as well. Just waiting for a good deal.
Hope this helps you and some others out there. :)
