Confusion regarding hardware slots when calibrating with Wacom color manager

Postby ChristianP » Thu 26. Sep 2019, 19:24

Hello,

I´m confused regarding the workflow for color calibration with Wacom Color Manager. It probably stems from my limited understanding of the subject. It doesn’t help that documentation about the software is nonexistent and support docs are not to be found anywhere.
The big question: when doing the calibration the software asks for a name of the ICC profile to be saved (I’m on a Mac but its the same on pc). At the same time a profile is saved into one out of two hardware slots on my Cintiq Pro 24. Now, this is probably where I’m misunderstanding things, but how can two profiles be saved at the same time? Must the software profile and the hardware profile be active in tandem to maintain the result? What if I want to use both of the two hardware slots and say switch between D65 and 120 cm2? Must I then also switch between the corresponding software profiles that were saved at the same time?
If no hardware slots were available I´d understand the logic behind profiles quite easy - its having profiles on two locations that puzzles me.

If someone understands this, please clarify, or please point in me in the direction of documentation.

Thank you very much. /Chris

The hardware storage allows you to maintain the same settings even if you change computers. You can switch between profiles through the Wacom Display Settings.
