Constant calibration needed

Postby lmiranda » Wed 19. Feb 2020, 19:26

Good morning guys!

We have some macbook pros late 2018 and 2019 models in our office. The wacom dispalys 22HD are constantly in need of calibration.

we have them hooked up to the macbook pro with usb c adapters. Dvi>usb c

this is the case usually sometimes we have a dock such as the startech usb c for ethernet and display with a usbport.

Sometimes the display calibration will also appear on the laptop monitor and not on the tablet display.

When users undock and bring the laptop back I assume the monitor configuration just gets messed up. Usually we can fix this by resetting the wacoms to factory or just playing around with cables.

Is there a way to prevent this from happening? A preferred way to make sure the calibration is not needed every so often?

Hi,

This can happen if your Mac is not able to recognize the device by it's Extended Display Identification Data (EDID) and recognizes the device as a new device - prompting the first time use calibration every time it's plugged in.
This is probably because the EDID is not being transmitted properly through the adapters and/or dock you are using. Try connecting the video connector directly to the Mac device and see if this helps.
