Connecting Wacom Cintiq21UX (gen 1) to Radeon GPU (DVI-I single link to DVI-D dual link)

Postby MisterM2020 » Wed 26. Feb 2020, 16:17

I have a faithful old Wacon Cintiq 21UX gen 1.

I have just changed the GPU in my PC from an NVIDIA GeForde GTX 750 Ti with a DVI-I Single Link socket
to a Radeon RX460 with a DVI-D Dual Link socket.

The original adapter that cam e with my Wacom looks like it is a DVI-I Dual Link (female - that the Wacom cable plugs into) to a DVI-D Single Link (male - that plugs into the PC.

When I try this adapter with the new GPU, my PC recognises the Wacom as a second screen, but gives no output to it.

Having read this thread: https://superuser.com/questions/440159/ ... k-dvi-port
it looks like connecting the 2 is impossible.

Am I right?

Many thnaks
