HDMI not connecting for Cintiq 16 Pro

Postby Perrorist » Thu 25. Jun 2020, 06:44

The problem is two-fold:

1. Connecting via USB-C directly doesn't work. Presumably this is an issue with the port on the PC not fully supporting Alternate Mode.

2. Using Link Plus, HDMI doesn't connect either. This is despite the fact that it works fine on both an older PC and on a laptop. The Cintiq says that it's connected by Display Port 1, but lacks a signal because it obviously isn't. Does Cintiq expect to be the first display in a multi-monitor setup (I have three all connected via DisplayPort)? If so, how can this be changed, as I want the Cintiq to be the fourth display, not the first?

Alternate mode is not required but not all USB-C ports are able to output video.

The display order is given and decided by the OS. The Cintiq Pro (or any other display for that matter) doesn't need to be plugged-in in a specific order. If the HDMI signal was reaching the Cintiq Pro, it would change to HDMI input. As you already tested this with another computer, we know the cables and the Wacom Link Plus are working fine so please check your system. I would suggest you start by unplugging all the monitors and plugging then back one by one, plugging the Cintiq Pro first or second.
