Expresskey remote not turning on, not charging

Postby mlietzen » Tue 11. Aug 2020, 19:00

Wondering about the ExpressKey Remote, mine just died. It doesn't turn on, doesn't charge. When I plug the usb cord in a small yellow led flashes quickly but nothing else. Holding down the reset button beneath the back cover does nothing. It was charged yesterday right after the low battery indicator lighted up and it charged and worked ok, but this morning it didn't react to anything.

I'm guessing it's some kind of hardware issue. Ordered a replacement but would be interested to know what killed it, since googling turns up other similar cases, seems to be a somewhat common occurrence. The manual does warn about not letting the battery run out, since that might damage the remote (been very careful about it for that reason), and I'm wondering if something like that might've accidentally happened.

After nearly 4 months of problems with the remote, Wacom eventually decided it was faulty and sent me a new one.
The new one is just as bad as the old one. Had to stop using it. Not charging or turning on was one of the problems.
