Does Wacom Cintiq Pro 16 require special type of USB-C cable?

Postby Greenlaw » Sat 15. Aug 2020, 02:08

Hi,

I recently got the Cintiq Pro 16 tablet and I want to swap out the USB-C cable that connects the tablet to the box with a USB-C cable that has angled connectors. Unfortunately, the new cable I got is causing the 'no signal' status on the tablet. The cable I'm trying to use is this one (link to Amazon product page):

AUKEY USB C to USB C Cable Right Angle for Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus A80, Google Pixel 2/3/3a/4 XL, iPad and More

I realize not all USB-C cables are the same, so I was wondering what the specs are for the official Wacom cable. Does anybody know if there is an alternative cable with angled connectors that's compatible with the Cintiq Pro16?

The reason I want to use a cable with angled connectors is that my work area is small and I prefer the cable to run directly toward the back of my desk.

Thanks in advance for any helpful info or suggestions.

You'll need to find a USB-C cable that can carry a DisplayPort 1.2 signal. Easier would be to look for Thunderbolt 3.0 specification cables as these support the DisplayPort and USB 3.0.
