Cintiq 13HD Callibration issue with Macbook Pro

Postby montblanc » Sun 23. May 2021, 15:17

I recently switched from a Windows laptop to a MacBook Pro, because the Windows computer I was using was no longer able to keep up with Photoshop (I work in 2D animation and this is a necessity for me). However, the MacBook has been having some really frustrating pen calibration issues with my Cintiq. There's a slight lag; not enough to render it unusable, but enough that it's really slowing down my productivity and making work extremely difficult. I can't find anything about this issue online. It's particularly bad on the left side of the Cintiq screen. It also disconnects itself every time I close the computer, forcing me to restart.

Any help or advice seriously appreciated! I'm on a tight schedule and wondering if I should just return the MacBook. I haven't had this issue before on any other computer I have used with this tablet. As the MacBook Pro has replaced all the usual ports with one USB-C port I have to use an adaptor to plug my Cintiq 13HD in so I initially thought that was the underlying issue. I have tried testing it with an adapter of a different brand and there was unfortuantely no improvement. Is there something specific in settings I've missed? Is this a common Mac issue?

For extra reference the exact model is DTK-1301, and I'm using an adapter to plug the HDMI and USB ports into the MacBook.

Hi,
Seems like you might have more than one issue there.
First, for performance issues, please check here: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/optimize-photoshop-cc-performance.html
Next, try reinstalling the Wacom driver and make sure you install the latest one https://www.wacom.com/en-de/support/product-support/drivers
I doubt this is a hardware issue. Your cables are probably just fine but if you need further assistance. please check with our support.
