How To: Run Cintiq 16 at 4k @ 60hz w/Wacom Link

Wacom support says you can't use a Wacom Cintiq Pro (Or the MSP 16) 16 in 4k if you're using the Wacom link. They're incorrect, and I made a quick video on how I did it. I didn't mention it in the video but make sure you're using Display Port 1 on your device, I was not able to get 4k on the other ports for some reason.

Thank you for clearing that up! Reading the description on the product page just left me without a clear answer to the most basic hardware question of all: will this work with my computer?

It's annoying wacom have bungled this part of the device by including a poorly chosen (cheaper?) cable, which places a burden of time and extra money on the end user if they want to use their £1400 piece of equipment to its full potential. This is something that should just work out of the box!

Anyway, thank you again :)

Hi, I got my 4k Mini DP to DP cable today and I'm not able to push the Pro 16 to 4k. I followed the instructions in the above video and I also unplugged my other 2 monitors from the gpu. Cintiq stays at 1440p.

Here's the cable I got:

Have posted similar topic here - viewtopic.php?f=5&t=768

Have got me a 4K certified cable and this does not work. There is no way presently to make this work on a mac that I can find other than via USB-C direct using the top left connector and its definately not production ready, there are many issues and as much as I want to love this product the fleeting times it works don't make up for the aggravation. Will collate all my problems and email support one last time before the whole lot gets boxed up and returned.
