Does it matter which function is assigned to the key (keystroke ? modifier ?) Meanwhile I heard about a problem with pen side buttons in ZBrush, which we could not solve yet. Other software should not be affected. - Do you have external devices (f.e. mouse) attached ? That can affect timing in Sierra reaction.
I'm using a Cintiq 13HD Pen & Touch, in a macbook pro Retina, 15 inch, late 2013, with MacOS Sierra 10.12 with 1 extra screen. I've tried unplugging the screen but it makes no difference. Sometimes I use a Microsoft mobile mouse 3500, unfortunately removing it makes no difference either.
Every time I'm using any tool in any drawing/designing app and I try to use a modifier key (shift/ctrl/command,etc) the keyboard doesn't respond properly or not respond at all 8 out of 10 times, and when the software responds at first try and I release the key after using it, the OS thinks I'm still holding it. I have to press the same key or other keys several times to unstuck it, even trivial things like pressing space bar to pan and ctrl+z have failed sometimes. Also I've found that if the modifier key gets stuck I can pull away my pen to a point is not recognized by the screen anymore and that gets the key unstuck too.
Pen Buttons work well but clicking is bad too. Sometimes it's recognized sometimes it's not, don't know if it has to do with modifier key pressing...
I've experienced the problem with the following software:
- Photoshop 2017.0.1
- Clip Studio Paint 1.6.2
- SketchBook Pro 8.4.1
- Illustrator 2017 (21.0.0)
- sketch app 43.2
Hope this helps to solve this issue quickly.
