Cintiq Pro 16 NO SIGNAL

Postby MarisaArtist » Fri 26. May 2017, 09:10

UPDATE: The wacom Cintiq is working. After buying 4 different types of cables from minidisplayport to displayport, I've found 1 cable that more or less works. Is this: https://www.amazon.es/gp/product/B00SN1 ... UTF8&psc=1

There are few issues occurring but IT WORKS so it's like a miracle.
    1. Sometimes it switches randomly to 2k to HD
    2. I have had to reinstall the drivers again from the graphic card and from the wacom tablet
    3. It seems that the accuracy, the pressure... works correctly. I need to test it again during some days but at first, all it's fine

I'm waiting for another cable because my graphic card supports 4k and Cintiq Pro supports it too. This cable that I bought is not 4k BUT IT WORKS.

I don't know exactly the reason. Anybody does. With some other people, some of the other cables that I bought, worked to them. So if you have the same problem as me, try to buy them. And maybe one will work.

Please don't close this post, because I'll post more information with the arrival of the new cable. Thanks!

Hi, It's been a week since I have in my hands a Cintiq Pro 16" an it has been a nightmare and a waste of time and money. I also use to work with wacom as a promoter and as an evangelist an it will be very difficult to me to talk good things about this device if the client try to work with computer and not with Mac :/.

At the beginning I only have HDMI on my graphic card. I know that nowadays there a no reliable adapter that could work correctly between USB-C and HDMI. So, I decided to upgrade a bit my computer (that only have 3 o 4 years ...) and I've bought a new graphic card: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1060 Windforce OC 6GB GDDR5 with 1.2 displayport.

I've bought also this cable: StarTech MDP2DPMM1MW - Cable adaptador de imagen (1 m), blanco (https://www.amazon.es/gp/product/B0081Z ... UTF8&psc=1)
IT DOESN'T WORK.

So I decided to by another cable: https://www.amazon.es/gp/product/B01N99 ... UTF8&psc=1 and this other cable: https://www.amazon.es/gp/product/B01J8G ... UTF8&psc=1

AND IT DOESN'T WORK TOO.

I can assure the graphic card is working properly. Is not problem of my displayport.

I try to connect minidisplay port to minidisplay port in a Mac Book Pro of a workmate. IT WORKS. But no, I'm not going to expend a lot of money buying a Mac. I'm the representation of the user that uses Computer with Windows, I don't have to change my device because is not working with my the hardware for computers.

So this is starting to be crazy. I've updated windows 10, I've updated the graphic card with the latest drivers. And any of my Wacom partners know what is happening here.

My computer is:
Procesador Core I5 Socket 1150 6 MB 3 4 GHz
https://www.amazon.es/gp/product/B00CO8 ... UTF8&psc=1

Kit memoria RAM de 16 GB (8 GB x 2, DDR3, 1600 MT/s, PC3-12800, UDIMM 240-Pin)
https://www.amazon.es/gp/product/B007J0 ... UTF8&psc=1

Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1060 Windforce OC 6GB GDDR5
https://www.pccomponentes.com/gigabyte- ... -6gb-gddr5

Gigabyte Z97X-Gaming 3
https://www.pccomponentes.com/gigabyte-z97x-gaming-3

I would not believe if you tell me that there is some incompatibility with some of my hardware to make work a Cintiq Pro 16... Well. I would believe it but I don't think this is the problem.

Thank you.

If I'd be you, return it as long as you can (2 weeks return policy).

For WACOM nothing seems wrong here and they refused to take mine back. I went through the same, lots of wasted time and money and then "silly" (as in outrageous) email conversations with WACOM.

There are plemty of reports that indicate that this device is not ready for the market or any kind of professional work.

Good luck.

Oh really?
This problem is worrying more people than us, in fact, a lot of people... :/ And strange issues like the cable that some one recommended me to use because it worked correctly in his computer (with similar properties than my computer), doesn't work for me.

I've bought a new graphic card and it still not working. Is crazy. And It works perfectly on the mac laptop of a workmate with a minidisplay to minidisplay connection. No to displayport.

FINALLY I FOUND A SOLUTION.

I've read in other forums some people that said: "I've bought the most expensive cable I found and it worked." I don't think that expensive is the same as quality always but I was desesperated so I bought the first and the second most expensive (and in stock) cables that I found on Amazon. And it worked.

I think that there is some kind of issue with the Wacom link that comes with the Cintiq. Not mine, aaaaaaaaaaaaaall the adaptors. Because it's imposible that people with similar devices had the same problem and it worked with different type of adaptors.

These are the only cables that worked on my Cintiq Pro 16:

https://www.amazon.es/gp/product/B06XSY ... UTF8&psc=1

https://www.amazon.es/gp/product/B00SN1 ... UTF8&psc=1

Other cables that work but not for me:
https://www.amazon.es/gp/product/B01N99 ... UTF8&psc=1

https://www.amazon.es/gp/product/B01J8G ... UTF8&psc=1

https://www.amazon.es/gp/product/B0081Z ... UTF8&psc=1

I'll do a video this july related with that and maybe it will help someone.

thanks!
