Tip feel problem Intuos Art Black Pen & Touch

Postby JeuElissen » Sat 16. Dec 2017, 21:13

I set the the Tip Feel of my Intuos Art Black Pen & Touch Medium to firm because while drawing in Photoshop CC 2018 for Mac the sensitivity of the Pen Tip is way too high for me. The brush I use mostly has Pressure Sensitive Shape Dynamics and I have no additional settings applied. However, it is not possible to draw any fluently shaped lines with thin begin and end, the line is irregular shaped and is showing abrupt transitions between different thicknesses as shown in the image. With a soft Tip Feel is virtually impossible to create any shape dynamics in the drawn lines. I already purchased a new pen because I assumed the Pen is the culprit of this issue but that proved to be the wrong assumption. A week ago I reinstalled my iMac with the latest driver 6.3.25 but I'm experiencing these sensitivity issues already for months now. Removing and reinstalling the driver had no result. Your advice and/or tips would be greatly appreciated.

First reset the driver (Remove driver prefs), then check in the driver diagnostics and in other programs, if this problem happens evrywhere or only in Photoshop. If that happens only in PS, try starting the program while pressing Cmd+Alt+Shift in order to reset Photoshop.

Resetting the driver was the right solution. Now I have to apply a lot more pressure to the pen to reach the maximum and the pressure range is much more evenly. Thanks very much, I'm really glad it's OK now.
