Corrupt Wacom settings, GIMP doesn’t recognize pen?

Postby AFWS88 » Thu 28. Dec 2017, 14:21

OK, got everything set up in GIMP, everything worked for a couple of days and then my pen didn’t work when I flipped it over. After many hours I realized under input devices everything related to my pen was greyed out. I figured that prolly had something to do with pen no longer working. I came across a comment online where a guy said to open up Wacom Tablet Utility and click the Remove(Reset?) button. I did that which lost all my settings I made ,but GIMP was able to recognize my pen again. I made a backup since it was working. I ended restoring my previous backup, so I could get my previous settings back. Wouldn’t you know it, GIMP wouldn’t recognize my pen again. I restored my backup that worked and my pen starting working again. I finally realized, I must have corrupt settings or something. Can somebody explain what’s going on? What do I do if I have several programs setup and GIMP does the same thing again. I wouldn’t want to reset everything cause then I would lose it all.
