Windows 10, Intuos2, wavy lines problem

Postby josehpchalli » Tue 27. Feb 2018, 15:08

Hi there,

I've seen many people have posted about this problem but that only certain tablets were covered in the fix.

I have an Intuos2, that has followed me around the planet over the years and in turn I have treated it very delicately. I intend on using it for 10 more years. I have been so pleased with its performance I have literally referred tens of people to Intuos to buy different tablets over the years.

Quite recently it seems I'm now suffering the wavy lines problem that everyone else is. I draw on commission and this is making things quite difficult.

I am on driver 6.2.0w5, windows 10 (most up to date).

I see people on the adobe forums have hacked a way around that uses the 'windows ink' checkbox in the tablet properties, however 6.2.0w5, the latest driver useable, does not have this checkbox.

Can anyone shed light on how to proceed? Buying a new tablet is not an option. If it's useless now I'll revert to pen and paper scanning like I did in the 90's, sadly.

Cheers

Not sure if you see this with this old driver under Windows10, but I would have a look in device manager and check if there is a 'wacom virtual hid' device in the list. If you see this, deactivate it and restart Windows, then test the tablet.

Back! (unfortunately)

That fix seemed to work for a while, possibly a month or two, but then the original problem started recurring...

Might there be able anything else to try?

Thank you

Well, after being responded on another sites forum, I took a knife and turned the tiny screw underneath the button on the pen. Seems to have done the trick, for now.

Will report back

Interesting solution :) The tiny screw adjusts the pen frequency calibration (how well pen and tablet frequency are aligned). I guess with electronic components in pen or tablet getting older the pen calibration can get off and cause problems.
