About pressure and lpi

Postby tchokomoko » Sun 16. Sep 2018, 18:53

A short question/s:

If I buy a wacom tablet with 4096 pressure levels pen, can i buy a 8192 pressure levels pen and use in it? It will work normally (higher pressure)?

And if I buy a tablet with a LPI based on a tablet with 8192 pressure levels pen, can I use a pen 4096 pressure level pen normally and vice-versa (any resolution change)?

Thank you!

Most of our tablets are backwards compatible with older Pen models which mean you might be able to use an older pen your new tablet. The older models however will not support the newest model's pens. You should also consider which software you are using since not every software will be able to make use of 8192 pressure levels. If you are not sure which pens are compatible with which models, check with the support team here.

Oh, im understanding about the software side...
I got a wacom intuos ctl4100 (the support site is saying that is 2018), i was planning to buy a wacom pro pen 2 kp504e (actually just finding this version in my country) for the 8192 pressures but the store says it is not compatible with my tablet (compatiblity list), but I was hopeful because maybe they just did not update the list, because wacom intuos pro (any) is 2017 (i think), but I think it's just for the PRO version as the name itself says.

Thanks for the info anyway! :D

You are correct. For the CTL4100 the only compatible pen is the LP1100K.
