The steps provided in the official support article didn't help me, I still have this exact same error, unfortunately.

What is the app "CleanerApp" called? I can't find it on Google.

Driver 6.3.31-5 is scheduled to release this afternoon and should fix this issue among some others. Please check: https://www.wacom.com/en-de/support/product-support/drivers

Got the new update, the "Lorem ipsum" message is gone but the settings are non-functional. Hovering the pen anywhere on the tablet puts the cursor the top left corner of the screen always, clicking does work.

Uninstalled before installing, then rebooted.

I haven't been able to reproduce this issue. I tried on two computers. Could you provide a bit more details? Have you made a full manual uninstall or did you just uninstall the driver?

I just did the manual uninstall (even searched for wacom files not listed, found about ~10), and it didn't help. The preferences panel is just like how it was before, except now without the latin error. Hovering or tapping now does nothing, including the 4 buttons.

Wacom Desktop Center sometimes says "no device connected", sometimes the device is there, but it still doesn't function.

Tried different USB cables. The light on my Intuos (2018) is lit, but that's about it.

EDIT: When I reboot (with the reopen windows when logging back in option turned on in macOS) while the system preferences pane is running, the pane says synchronizing for a few seconds, then it says that there's a problem with the driver

At this point it's better if you can contact the support team and provide further details: https://support.wacom.com/
