my problem with intuos m pro

Postby devonman » Sat 26. Jan 2019, 09:34

I have my usb plugged in (showing two green leds at plug point but my tablet does not indicate a red led on the tablet) yet my pen works the cursor ok. However there are times my pen will not operate unless there is a red light showing by the usb input at tablet and if no red light no cursor operates. There are times the red light exits for no reason I know of also and can play up switching in and out and no operation at all.
Far as I can tell my blutooth system is not operating. (Asus AC1200 Wireless -adaptor,dual band PCE-AC55BT PCI-E) Or is it?
Windows 10,Asus motherboard and PC was constructed by a local IT shop last OCTober 2018.

Appreciate your help and views on the subject.

Hi. You have me confused with the LED colors.
Please confirm the model number of your Intuos. Check for PTH-XXX on the back.

Normally the Intuos Pro only lights up the white LED near the touch ring when plugged via USB. There are no red or green LEDs (unless you are using the latest pro models in Paper mode)

If you are having issues, please make sure you connect the tablet directly to the computer (don't use any USB Hubs) and try a different USB ports. Also check if you have installed the latest driver - https://www.wacom.com/support/product-support/drivers

Thanks Wacom 5 for response.
At this present moment I read your comments and I picked up my pro pen 2 and tablet PTH660 (purchased new Nov 2018)I then plugged into a USB non hub and two green leds switched on and also a dull red led lit up next to the usb inlet on the tablet (r/h side) also a white led lit up on the ring left hand side. Three dings sounded and that tells me the pen is now operative but also the mouse continues to operate as well.
As far as I can tell the Bluetooth never operates (if I pull the usb lead nothing works) The instruction Touch Off sometimes appears on screen.
I have been to the settings of computer W10 and Nvida 1060 card btw and never seemed satisfied that Bluetooth ever works. Naturally I have pushed in the button on the other side of tablet by the ring and still cannot operate pen in this mode. Latest drivers in.
Please help further

I note since above report my usb at the front of my PC has 4 led bulbs and is marked USB3/0 Super Speed and a bulb lights up for each usb lead plugged in . (the mouse is wireless so that is one bulb and the pen makes two bulbs) I switched to back of pc and plugged into a new usb section and pen at first worked at this point but whilst typing this report the red led switched off and pen does not operate again, white led on left is still lit.

Ok.
We need to this step by step. First we take care of the USB connection and then we move on to the Bluetooth connection.
Before anything else. Make sure we install the latest driver - https://www.wacom.com/en-de/support/product-support/drivers
  1. Plug the table USB cable to the back of the computer
  2. Ensure there is a white LED next to the touch ring (ignore the other LEDs for now)
  3. If you already installed the driver, open the Wacom Desktop Center
  4. Confirm if the tablet is detected
  5. If the tablet is detected, open the pen settings
  6. Click on About and then Diagnose
  7. Test the pen by moving it on the tablet surface and checking how it behaves in the diagnostics window
Once you are sure the tablet works via USB, we can move on to the Bluetooth connection.
Make sure you run all Windows updates and then follow the steps here:

Item 1 confirm correct.
item 2 confirm correct.
item 3 latest driver correct
item 4 tablet detected confirmed.
item 5 opened
item 6 opened as per those instructions and blue bar moved ok it showed a wireless ID number and tablet s/n the same
item 7 pen worked imo normally
Those above all seem satisfactory there was a loss of red led at tablet usb side but pen worked ok this time.
Will follow on re the Bluetooth advice next reply.

OK read the wireless options.
The Bluetooth option is selected in settings

usb is disconnected
press button by the ring and push centre button and get the blue led flashing at the otherside usb inlet.
at the Bluetooth settings screen a rows of blue signals pass across the top but I never get the pair option or any option.
any further instruction welcome please.

Please check the Bluetooth driver in your computer and make sure you have at least Bluetooth 4.0 enabled.
Did you also try to reset the Intuos Pro as described here?

Wacom 5, thank you for your help re my pro model, the usb system works most of the time does still switch off operation occasionally but I will live with that.
Bluetooth is a mystery to me and next time I am in touch with my supplier I will get Bluetooth checked out professionally.
