Is there a Wacom Intuos Pro mouse or not?

Postby laptopleon » Tue 31. Jan 2017, 11:50

When I bought a Wacom Intuos Medium Pro Touch in 2013, it came without a mouse. In the past, often a mouse was included, for example with the Intuos 2 and Graphire2. If not, it was at least available as an extra / accessoire.

I asked the Dutch main dealer and he told me there did not exist an Intuos Pro mouse and therefore it was not for sale.

Now I noticed Intuos mice are for sale on the internet and some sellers claim they also work with the Intuos Pro. I can still not find them on the Wacom site though.

Since Wacom reads all messages before placing them, can you please clarify if there is or is not such a mouse? I would really like to have one.

There is a mouse for the Intuos Pro from 2013, but not anymore for the new Intuos Pro 2017. - You cannot have mouse and touch at the same time, and stopped including a mouse when introducing tablets with touch. (The IntuosPro 2013 mouse was developed for the Intuos4 without touch. It was included with the IntuosPro2013 only in some sales regions.)

That's too bad, but at least I now know.

Wacom1,
The KC-100 mouse for Intuos 4 is compatible with Intuos 5 & last year's Intuos Pro. On a Mac there's an option in the system preference panel to disable touch and there's also an option to use one of the express keys to toggle touch on & off.
As all the pens from the previous Intuos work how come the mouse doesn't?

From the previous tablet generation the Grip Pen, Pro Pen, Artpen, Airbrush Pen and Classic Pan can be used on the MobileStudio Pro, Cintiq Pro and new Intuos Pro models. The old Inking pen, mouse and lens cursor are not supported on these tablets. I don't know the reason for that.

I own a 2013 model, not a 2017, and yes, I do use it on macOS. (Figured PC/Linux drivers were able to turn off the touch as well, but apparently not).

So to be perfectly 100% clear:Do I understand correctly that the Wacom Intuos Pro Medium Touch PTH-651/K from 2013 is compatible with the Wacom KC-100 mouse? I'd like to know this in order to prevent buying something incompatible.
