Unable to install Wacom driver

Postby Curiousjeff » Tue 14. Feb 2017, 16:25

I am unable to install the Wacom driver on a Windows 10 machine.

The files are extracted to a temporary folder and that's it. Nothing more. No installation, no warning. Nothing.

I searched and:

Update the Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 redistributable
Stopped the anti-virus (Norton).

If I plug the tablet (Intuos 3) into a USB port, it will appear and work as a mouse.

On the same machine, I have a dual boot with Windows 7. On Windows 7, the installation had no problem.

I tried version:

Any idea ?

You can rename the EXE extension to .ZIP, then unpack the files into a new folder and run setup.exe in that folder. If it fails, you can check \Program Files\Tablet\Install.log to see, what happens, or send that to our technical support.

That worked like a charm.

I can't believe the time I spent looking for a solution.

Intuos 3 is old, I agree, but the installation problem concerned all versions without connnecting the tablet. I will probably upgrade the tablet soon.
