Tablet Intuos pro does not respond to the pen

Postby agus1989 » Tue 21. Feb 2017, 20:50

It happens when using the tablet Intuos Pro with Photoshop CS6; it works properly when I start my working session but shortly after the tablet stops responding to the pen movement or clic. I have tried to unplug and plug again the tablet but nothing happens, the only way to make it work again seems to be rebooting the computer.

I am using Mac OS X El Capitan v. 10.11.3, I installed the driver released on 27th December 2016. Any ideas of what is happening?

El Capitan seems to have issues with the USB ports for several users.

The most common problem with USB is insufficient power supply:
Is your tablet directly connected to an USB-port of your Mac or is it connected via an USB-Hub?
If you are using a Hub, is it active or passive (with or without it's own power supply)?

Did you try to change the tablet to a different USB-port? (To a direct port or to an active USB-Hub, if it was different before).

Do you have a strong WLAN-Router nearby? (the LG 5K Monitor has issues due to insufficient shielding).

Is it a long standing issue (and you can't remember, when it began), or did it begin with a certain action (installation of a new application/tool/utility, OS update, driver update)?

Other things, you might want to try:
- does logging off and on resolve the issue (instead of rebooting the system)
- resetting SMC (https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201295)
- updating to 10.11.6
- latest Wacom drivers for Intuos Pro (PTH-451/PTH-651/PTH-851) would be from Feb 8th, 2017
