Hi,
Can you tell us the tablet model and Wacom driver version? Can't help you otherwise.

Thanks Wacom5 it's a CTH470 and the driver is the current one: Driver 5.3.7-6 (macOS 10.9 - 10.12).

Interestingly, on start-up it all works, there's a tick in the 'touch' box but after 10 minutes it disappears and will not 'tick' again !

Understood. I would advise you to reset your preferences and if that doesn't work, to try clean installing the driver. Be aware that the CTH-470 is not supported on Mojave and neither is driver 5.3.7-6. We can't guarantee it to work as expected with all the regular features or even work at all.

Well I've tried my best but no luck, I guess because it "isn't supported" - I cannot afford to buy yet another tablet, this is my second ... why are they not "supported" when the hardware works ? Wacom seems happy selling stuff with a limited life ... I suppose the Bamboo Fun is out of date as well (I have one tucked away somewhere) ?

Bamboo devices are not supported in current up to date systems. We can only support devices for a certain period. After a while with all the driver and operating system changes, it's simply not possible to support new products and the old ones at the same time. Bamboo devices are nearly 9 years old. It's 4 generations old.

Oh well, the way of the world I guess, sad to have, in effect, three perfectly good tablets in the cupboard that are perfectly useless. Thanks for getting back to me.

I've developed a fix for Wacom's touch driver for Bamboo tablets on Catalina, give that a go:

https://github.com/thenickdude/wacom-driver-fix

It fixes code that relied in internal operating system structures that were changed on Catalina, and triggered the driver to crash as soon as a multi-touch gesture was attempted.
