The problem is not specific to serial numbers. Some percentage of the production had an issue, in many cases hard to notice and slipped quality check. The process was improved in production and quality checking.

Thanks for clarifying the issue and how wacom handled it. However, don't serial numbers follow a chronological order? Meaning units from the improved production would with no doubt start from a specific range or have higher serial than past ones which still have the chance to show the issue. Knowing the right serial number range would give me certainty of that instead of playing the lottery.

I just want to go to the store and be certain the one I'll pick will be fine, as opposed to going in, taking it back, opening, inspecting, see issue, go back, exchange, and so on for god knows how many times.
