Inkspace not running on older Mac

I bought a new Intos Pro Paper Edition model PTH-860.
I have an older Mac model A1278 (about 10 years old or so) running MacOS 10.13.6. The Mac cannot be upgraded to a newer MacOS.
The Wacom driver installs successfully, the mouse pointer works with the Pen, and the Wacom tablet utility can detect the device and run driver diagnostics and it says everything is good.

However, when trying to run Inkspace I get a message saying "Insufficient hardware resources found. Most probably video driver is not installed"

I purchased the device specifically for the ink pen feature so this is a real bummer. I'm not clear why only this particular application fails to find the driver, while other driver features seem to work.

Is there any solution that would allow me to use this device on my Mac?

Thanks in advance.

I am afraid the error message says it all. Your Mac doesn't seem to have the resources to run this software.
