Accidental left-clck

Postby erbster » Tue 23. Feb 2021, 17:52

Hi,
I wonder if more experienced users can offer me some advice on this please.
I have an Intuos BT on MacOS 11.2.1 with all drivers installed.
My issue is this: I am left handed, but due to a childhood injury, I am unable to bend my left thumb at the last joint (the one just before the thumb tip).
It means I hold my (conventional) pen oddly, but I have (in my opinion) pretty neat hand-writing. I use my Intuos not only for image-editing, but also as a teacher. I like to write on my powerpoint or on PDFs etc to annotate and to model what I want the students to write.
When I use my Intuos for image editing, its all good (I'm still adjusting to that); however when I try to write, all hell breaks loose. The pen will write normally for a bit and then develops a life of its own, whereby the pen will continue to draw even after I have lifted it up, which results in random trails all over my work. I thought I had a hardware fault, but I now believe that as I am writing, I tend to roll the pen a little and accidentally click the left mouse button because I am not holding the pen in the normal way.

Sorry for this rather long (first) post, but I wonder if anyone has any suggestions for how to avoid this. Can I temporarily disable the buttons, for example? Any thoughts gratefully accepted
TIA
Charles

Hi,
Disabling the Pen's Side Switch is certainly the most viable option if that's really what is causing the issue.
