CTE630 driver for Mac OS Sierra

Postby Jonzjob » Sat 20. May 2017, 16:42

Hi folks, I am looking to upgrade my iMac from Yosemite to Sierra and so far haven't managed to find a driver that will work?

I have a CTE630 BT wireless pen/mouse tablet

Any ideas please?

Last driver version for CTE630BT is 5.3.3 - but we haven't tested that with Sierra.

Thank you for your reply. I have now tried booting up my iMac on an external HDD with Siera on it. Downloaded 5.3.3-3 and try to instal it.

I get the message that it can't be installed on OS X versions previous to 10.6? Sierra is way above that at 10.12.5.

In my case it helped for CTE 430/460:

...and all run OK before the very last update from 10.12.5 to 10.12.6. This is when Pref pane refused to open for the first time.

Unfortunately, what concerns later Sierra updates and 10.13 in particular, the installer itself does not recognise the correct OS version, saying it won't run under a system 'earlier than 10.6'.

I have both CTE 430 and 630 tablets.
5.2.6 can run under 10.11 giving the second life to CTE 430 Sapphire but, strangely enough, NOT to CTE 630 Graphite.
The 630 pen oddly lives its own life, clicking buttons and selecting active windows itself while I just hold the cursor above, not pressing the pen's buttons.
Any ideas why?

CTE430 and CTE630 are rather old models and not supported anymore. Unfortunately the old Bamboo driver is not running with HighSierra any longer. If the pen behaves strange with the CTE630, I would suspect a problem with the pen or tablet hardware.

actually, not...
a plenty of pens, including EP-155Es the and brand new CTE genuine ones...
* I've got the 2nd boot option on the same MacPro under 10.7.5 and CTE 630 works just perfectly.
* On my Win 10x64 notebook CTE 630 also works flawlessly.
While CTE 430 runs smoothly under 10.11.6, CTE 630 can't help making a click while I'm only holding the pen the cursor is standing still above a button or a window that can be selected or pressed. You never know... I just don't think such kind of (unnecessary) 'press-the-button-automation' has ever been included in the driver?
