Intuos drivers for Sierra 10.12.6

Postby woodburyboy » Sun 3. Sep 2017, 12:33

Ive searched this forum for the answer to this question but found nothing.

I believe there is an issue with the Intuos pen tablet and IOS drivers for Sierra (10.12.6). I cant get the Wacom software to identify my new tablet and all I get is the white flashing LED light in the top/middle of the tablet Has anyone else experienced this and found a solution they would be kind enough to share with me before I send this tablet back to Amazon for a refund? Thanks

Mark

Please note that we just released the new driver 6.3.24-1 for macOS.

When the LED is only blinking, the Mac (or PC) doesn't recognize the tablet itself. So no driver involved.
Can you please check if using another USB Port on your Mac already solves the issue?
Do you have a wireless kit? Then you can change the connection as well (wireless vs. wired)
And if the Intuos works on another computer?

Thank you for your help.
I clean all drives from the included CD.
Installed the new driver 6.3.24-1 for macOS.
Try several USB ports.
Don´t have a wireless kit.
Works with another and older computer; Mac Mini (2009) with El Capitan (As I wrote before).
The light is on. Not blinking.
Again:
Mac Pro (mid 2010) using Sierra 10.12.6

What can I do?

@AtelierCunha: To check what is not working we need more details
What are the symptoms? When the tablet is not connecting correctly, the driver does not change anything (blinking LED vs. solid)
Is this a recent Mac? Do you need to use an adaptor from USB-C to USB?
Please provide us as many details as possible!

Hello and thank for the message.
As said before; it works perfectly with my son´s Mac Mini (2009)/Mac OS El Capitan.

Not working with (again):
Mac Pro (mid 2010) using Sierra 10.12.6
Installed the new Wacom driver 6.3.24-1 for macOS. Cleaned the previous driver from the system completely and did a fresh installation.

Additional info:
My Mac Pro uses USB 2. All Ports are working perfectly. Tried several of them with the Wacom.
Don´t have a Wacom wireless kit.
The Wacom is connected with the little light on. It blinks if I touch the tablet with the pen or finger. But the cursor does not move on the screen.

Other tests:
Switch several USB ports.
Changed the system language between Portuguese and English.
Did First Aid several times with Mac Disk Utility.
Restarted several times.
Tried with my bluetooth Apple mouse switch off/also the bluetooth funcionality switch off.

Additional info:
The Wacom shows on my System preferences; so its installed.
The Wacom tries to syncronize and fail, over and over again.
The message in the System Pref. panel is always the same "Theres a problem with your tablet driver. Please reboot your system. If the problem persists reinstall or update the driver". :-Z
As reported; I´ve done reboot and reinstallation of the drive.

Is this drive ok? Anyone reporting the same problem?

P.s. I always try to solve problems alone but this is very very annoying ,-( I will return the Wacom soon and ask for a refund if you cannot help me.

Thank you very much.

Thanks for all the details, now I have a much better picture.
How did you remove the driver from the Mac?
Did you use the Wacom Preference File Utility? Or use the typical macOS way to simply delete the files? (See the step-by-step description: http://www.wacom.com/en-us/support?guid ... -(manually)-and-re-install-the-Wacom-driver-on-Mac-OS-for-a-Pen-Tablet%2C-Pen-Display%2C-or-Pen-Computer%3F&guideId=92364887-7911-4c75-9b65-246b7be65e0b&stPage=guideListPage-1)

Anyway, can you please check what happens when you remove the preferences for all users with the Wacom Preference File Utility?
Does this change the behavior?

You complained that you didn't receive support so far. Did you try to contact us via http://www.wacom.com/support/contact-support already?

Hello again and thank you for your help.
I asked support also from emeasupport@wacom.com.
Did some suggested tests with the last and older drives. Not working.

Did one last test:
"If you keep experiencing the issue, please try creating a new user with administrative rights in your computer for testing purposes:
Go to the Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Users and groups
Click the lockpad button to unlock the settings
Press the + button and create a new user (make sure it has administrative rights)
Logout from your user and login to the newly created user
Test if the Wacom Properties now open without any errors
Just in case perform the driver re-installation instructions again to re-install the latest driver and test again
First with the newly created user
Then with your original user"

Did this.
Created a new user account like suggested with administrative rights.
With a new user the Wacom works ,-)
My problem isn´t solved yet because it does not work with my current user.
;-(

It seems that there´s a problem between the Wacom driver and the user account I use in my Mac for years. Why? I cannot understand.
Any ideas?

Thank you very much.

Sometimes the data in the user account gets messed up from macOS itself.
Sometimes this helps: http://www.wacom.com/en-us/support?guid ... -(manually)-and-re-install-the-Wacom-driver-on-Mac-OS-for-a-Pen-Tablet%2C-Pen-Display%2C-or-Pen-Computer%3F&guideId=92364887-7911-4c75-9b65-246b7be65e0b&stPage=guideListPage-1

Otherwise I fear you will need to move the data from the old to the new user in macOS.
Or a complete reinstall of macOS will help.
