Help! Pen keeps getting stuck on Scroll!

I'm having trouble with my Intuos 3, sometimes it just randomly gets stuck in 'scroll mode' the first time I use it that day.
It usually happens when I go into Artrange and I get the box telling me there are no new updates, but it is not restricted to this program, it does it with all the graphics programs I have!

Sometimes I can fix it by scribbling the pen alot while randomly clicking the buttons but half the time this doesn't fix it and I have to restart.

I have the latest drivers for my tablet, but the strange this is, the Bamboo One I had prior to this one did this as well!

Has anyone else experienced this problem? Is there any way to fix it?

I can only guess that there is some trouble or conflict with the USB connection to the tablet, when some other routine is accessing the internet. I would try to unplug and replug the tablet when this happens. That should reset the driver. If you have the tablet connected through a hub, I recommend also to try a direct connection.
