Wacom Link Plus

Postby mattrichards » Mon 15. Jun 2020, 14:33

Hi all
I did touch on this the other day on another post but I starting to get conflicting info and I am really needing definitive clarification.

I'm looking to get the Cintiq Pro 16 but I'm still unsure if I am able to get 4K with my set up.

I have a GeForce 960GTX card. This has:
1x HDMI.1
3x Display Ports (standard size not mini)
1x DVI connection.

My workstation has available USB ports but NO USB-C.

I have contacted Wacom support twice now but I cant get a definitive answer based on my set up. They tend to just point me in the direction of the Cintiq 16 spec which doesn't really help.

Will the Wacom Link Plus give me 4K via my Geforce 960GTX card?

Thanks

The Wacom Link Plus will support 4k @ 60 Hz via DisplayPort. You need to check your GFX card output to see what is supported as well.

Many thanks for replying.

When you say 'check the graphics card to see whats supported', do you mean that I should check to see if it supports 4K output?

Or is there something else that I should check?

if I installed a USBc PCI card would that work or do the USBc outputs need to be part of a graphics card?

Thanks

Yes

I don't know. Not every USB-C port is capable to output video so you need to check for the right setup. This is out of my expertise tough.
